Gameplay Notes

• Red = light pieces (goes first)
• Blue = dark pieces
• Click and drag to move pieces
• If a move is illegal, the piece is put back
• For promotion: the square is divided in four, click on the piece you want
• For castling: drag the king onto the target rook
• When the game is over (checkmate or draw), hold space to see the board
• Then, press escape or enter to quit

Other Notes

• You might need to update your Java to run this program, see the link at the top of the page
• The window’s title shows the turn
• The title also shows the values of the pieces captured

Chess2

• Play against a bot that makes random moves
• It’s really, really bad...and it doesn’t know how to castle
